BACARDĺ presents JJ Johnson’s The Cookout: A Hip Hop Celebration hosted by Rev Run and Angela Yee with performances by Kid Capri, Freeway and more

Back by popular demand, after last year’s very successful inaugural event, The Cookout: a Hip-Hop Celebration hosted by none other than JJ Johnson, the James Beard Award-winning super-chef/owner of FIELDTRIP, and Rev Run, American rapper, producer, DJ and television personality.

We invite you to be a part of this fun and festive event to honor a true American music genre, hip hop and the city that birthed it, New York. Come celebrate Black cuisine and culture at our brand Brooklyn home, the Brooklyn Army Terminal to close out the 17th annual Festival.

With James Beard Award-winning chef JJ Johnson and Angela Yee from iHeart Radio’s Way Up with Angela Yee as your hosts, the night will blend rhymes with refreshments and hip-hop with noshing. JJ Johnson has gathered the best Black chefs in New York to showcase their signature dishes, where like hip-hop, food becomes an art form, telling stories through culturally rich ingredients and techniques. Plus, there will be plenty of beer, wine and cocktails to complement the food and beats.

Even better, there will be performances by:

• Rev Run, one of the founding members of legendary hip-hop trio Run DMC
• Kid Capri, Grammy Award-winning DJ and Producer
• Freeway, Philadelphia rapper and occasional Jay-Z collaborator
• DJ Too Much and Danny Stern, Popular DJs to the stars
