Winner of the 2023 NYCWFF Burger Bash People’s Choice award, Mel and her crew are back this year to regain and take home the title.

In Mel’s view, food is an experience, meant to be shared in a way that leaves people feeling fulfilled in both their stomachs and hearts.   Mel believes in providing access to all-encompassing food-based events for a broad range of consumers.  Having spent over two decades in the food and hospitality industry across all areas, Mel’s expansive knowledge allows her to bring food and fun together.  Emphasizing delicious meals made with high-quality ingredients, Mel taps into her expertise in marketing and management, as well as

 her experiences working with Disney and the Food Network, to add elements of entertainment that leaves guests feeling both full and fulfilled. 

In July 2021, Melanie opened her flagship restaurant Mel’s Butcher Box in Tenafly, NJ.  Since opening, her ability to share what she loves — food and fun — has amplified.  Mel’s Butcher Box has been featured locally on TV, radio and print media, and most recently, Melanie was cast as a participant on Food Network in the show Chef Bootcamp, where she was able to highlight her “skills” as a chef and restaurant entrepreneur.  

Mel’s winning burger from the 2023 NYCWFF Burger Bash is currently being served at Citi Field, Home of the NY Mets. 

Mel  is excited to have the opportunity to elevate both her career and — more importantly —  the way people experience food together.
