Erik Ramirez is the executive chef and co-owner of The Llama Group, which includes the acclaimed Llama Inn and Llama San in New York City and Llama Inn in London and Madrid. Erik began his culinary journey over two decades ago as sous chef of Eleven Madison Park and Irving Mill. He achieved his goal of pioneering the Peruvian cuisine of his heritage, driving its popularity in NYC and beyond when he joined The Llama Group in 2015 in partnership with Juan Correa. At Llama Inn and Llama San, Erik aims to cultivate intensely unique flavor profiles that showcase Peru’s diverse culinary heritage while also paying homage to his home in NYC. Throughout his time at The Llama Group, Erik has received numerous accolades including New York Times three-star and two-star reviews for Llama San and Llama Inn, respectively, and was a finalist for James Beard’s Outstanding Chef award in 2023. He also led the culinary programming at The Met Gala in 2021. Erik resides in Brooklyn with his two children.
